CHESTER – Shannon D. Hohgrefe, 51, of Chester passed away at 11:45 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home in Chester.
Shannon was born on October 14, 1966, in Chester, the son of Robert and Donna (Muench) Hohgrefe. He married Becky Caraker on May 25, 2018, in Chester. Shannon worked for utilities services out of New Lenox, Illinois, and he was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville.
He is survived by his wife; Becky Hohgrefe, of Chester, children; Tori (Terry) Leggans, of Willisville, Jesse (Kylie) Hohgrefe, of Willisville, Elizabeth Caraker, of Coulterville, 3 grandchildren; Willow, Jensen, and Jackson. Shannon is also survived by his siblings; Stephanie (Dale) Diercks, of Steeleville, Scott Hohgrefe, of Marshfield, Missouri, Chip (Christy) Wasson, of Steeleville.
Mr. Hohgrefe was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. Dr. Kimberly Allen officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Saturday from 7:30 until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois – Blue/West Team, or St. Mark's Lutheran School.
