PERCY - Shane Lee Haslett, 37, of Percy, passed away at 2:42 am, Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. Shane was born in Sparta, Illinois on December 15, 1977, the son of Benjamin and Vicky VanPelt Haslett. He was a carpenter. Shane was a member of the Promise of Living Water Church in Red Bud, Illinois. He loved to fish and he was a big family man. Shane is survived by one son, Seth Wayne Haslett of Percy; and two daughters, Sierra Nicole Haslett of Percy and Kathleen Haslett of Sparta, IL; his parents, Benjamin and Vicky Haslett of Percy; two brothers, Johnny Haslett of Percy and Travis Haslett of Chester, IL; one sister, Shannon Blessing of Murphysboro; paternal grandmother, Virginia Faye Rhodes of Willisville; several nieces and nephews; and a loving brother-in-law. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Mark Frisbie officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 10 am until 1 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Memorials may be given to a Love Fund for the Family.
