MURPHYSBORO – Selena McBride, 71, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at SIH Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois.

Selena was born on July 27, 1955, in Anna, IL, to David F. and Jewel E. (Brown) Sronce. She was self-employed and a member of Elks Lodge #572, Murphysboro, IL.

Selena is survived by her brother, Roger Sronce of Vergennes, IL, her niece and caretaker, Sheryl Holland of Willisville, IL, her numerous nieces and nephews and her army of Elks brothers and sisters.

Selena was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Joe Sronce and her sister, Judy Blazier.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, 1:00 pm, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Pastor Steven Duncan officiating. Burial to follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be Monday morning, August 31, 2026, where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at The Elks Lodge, Murphysboro, IL, from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
