ELLIS GROVE, Scott A. Mathis, 50, of Ellis Grove, passed away at 5:13 P.M. Monday, May 03, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Chester, IL. He was born May 05, 1959 in Sparta, Illinois the son of Darlene R. Mathis. Scott married Karen M. Soma on November 10, 1988 at Jefferson Brks., St. Louis, MO. He was of the Baptist Faith. Scott was retired from Sparta Light Metals. Scott is survived by his wife Karen Mathis of Ellis Grove, IL; three children, Phillip Shields of Red Bud, IL, Hillary Mathis of Ellis Grove, IL and Nicholas Mathis of Ellis Grove, IL. Scott is preceded in death by his Mother. Due to Mr. Mathis' wishes, cremation will take place and the services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville. Memorials may be made to his Family.
