CHESTER – Sarah Kohrs, 79, of Chester, formerly of Sparta, passed away at 2:52 pm, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Sarah was born October 13, 1942, in Wood River, IL, to George and Elizabeth Smith Myers. She married Kenneth R. Kohrs on May 23, 1975, in Sparta, IL, he preceded her in death on June 19, 2020. Sarah was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Sparta, IL, and St. Ann's Sodality. She was an avid Sparta Bulldog fan and supporter and loved spending time with her family.

Sarah is survived by her children: Kathy (Ray) McConachie of Chester, IL, Kelly (Melvin) Coop of Walsh, IL, Kevin (Lori) Kohrs of Trenton, IL; grandchildren: Kristopher (Amanda) McConachie, Kacie (Brent) Jones, Kelsie (Chad) Buss, Klayton Coop, Alexis (Jacob) Jeschke, Kenzie Kohrs, Kennedy Kohrs, Kyle Kohrs, Nathan Godat; great grandchildren: Kody (Katie) McConachie, Kourtney McConachie, Hudsen Buss, Addelyn Buss, Willow Jeschke; great great grandchild, Mollie McConachie, sister, Jan Fassler of Bethalto, IL, brother, Jerry (Karen) Myers of Elsah, IL, sister-in-law, Judy (George) Ledbetter of Sparta, IL, and her beloved fur baby, Sarge.

Sarah is also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Keith D. Kohrs and Kenneth D. Kohrs, two daughters, Stacie R. Kohrs and Kim R. Kohrs and a daughter-in-law, Doreen Kohrs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Sparta, IL, with Monsignor Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial to follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Family and friends may call from 5 - 8 pm, Friday, and 8 – 10 am, Saturday at the church.
