PERCY – Sara Isabelle Newton, 18, of Percy, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 in Rural Sparta, Illinois.

Sara was born in Sparta, Illinois, on June 16, 2006, the daughter of Charles, Jr."Sonny" and Deana Price Newton. Sara was a 2024 Trico High School graduate. She was attending the Rend Lake Cosmetology program and was an employee at Sparta Wal-Mart. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Ava Assembly of God Church. Sara loved to be creative in her drawing and painting. She had an infectious personality and brought joy to all that knew her. Sara will be greatly missed. We are comforted in knowing that we will see her again one day and she is in the arms of Jesus.

Sara is survived by her parents, Charles, Jr. "Sonny" and Deana Newton of Percy; siblings, Charles "CJ" (Anna) Newton, III of Percy, and Brittany (Tyler Nesbitt) Newton of Steeleville; niece, Syron Newton, nephew, Jaxon Newton; grandparents, Brenda James of Percy and Robert (Scharley) Price of Carrier Mills, IL; boyfriend, Tyler Tucker of Sparta; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

Sara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles Newton, Sr. and Linda & Bud Weaver; and uncle, Tony Price.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Steve Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 7 pm on Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospital.
