STEELEVILLE – Ruth L. Zeidler, 103, of Steeleville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at Red Bud Care Center, Red Bud, IL.

Ruth was born in Steeleville, IL, on January 23, 1919, a daughter of Herman and Frances (Ivans) Hartmann. She married William H. (Tony) Zeidler on August 21, 1941, in Perryville, MO. They were married for 48 years. Ruth was a life-long member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL.

Ruth is survived by her daughters: Ruth Russell of Steeleville, IL, Barbara Howard of Springfield, IL; her son, John Zeidler, preceded her in death. She had 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. One sister, Anita Whittier, survives her.

Ruth is also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Zeidler, her parents, Herman and Frances Ivans Hartmann, her brothers: Herman Hartmann, Albert Hartmann, Rufus Hartmann, Wilbert Hartmann, and Frank Hartmann; her sisters: Louise Beisner, Frances Duvardo, and Florence Lehnhoff.

Visitation will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 11 - 1 pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Reverend Mark Harriss officiating. Burial will be held at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, and be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
