AVA – Ruth K. Rodewald, 97, of Ava, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Independence Care Center, Perryville, Missouri.

Ruth was born in Steeleville, Illinois, on June 20, 1925, the daughter of Elmer F. and Martha (Inselmann) Meyerhoff. She married Omer H. Rodewald on June 22, 1946, in Steeleville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1996. Ruth was a homemaker and had retired from Gilster Mary Lee, Steeleville, IL. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church-West Point, Campbell Hill, IL. Ruth loved gardening, quilting at the church, reading, and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her children: Gyle Rodewald of Campbell Hill, IL, Judy (Glenn) Diercks of Sparta, IL, Jane (Steve) Mueller of Steeleville, IL, daughter-in-law, Judy Rodewald of Steeleville, IL; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Ruth Rodewald.

Ruth is also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daryle, a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Ethel Troue.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Immanuel Lutheran Church-West Point, Campbell Hill, IL, with Rev. Timothy Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, Tuesday, 5 – 8 pm, and Wednesday, 7:30 – 9 am, and then 10 – 11 am, at the church. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill or KFUO Radio Station.
