AVA – Ruth H. Pulcher, 96, of Ava, passed away at 12:40 pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in DuQuoin, Illinois.
Ruth was born in Ava, Illinois on April 1, 1919, the daughter of the late William N. and Stella I. Phelps Butler. Ruth married Frank R. Pulcher on March 5, 1948 at Yuma, Arizona. He preceded her in death September 16, 1994. She was a Homemaker. Ruth was a member of Kinkaid Christian Fellowship, the Ava Senior Citizens, and the Egyptian Antique Auto Club.
Ruth is survived by her son, Ronald E. Pulcher of Ava and his Godchildren, Jorah Ivy of Williston, ND; and Jennifer McCurtis of Charleston, IL.
Ruth was also preceded in death by her Parents; and three sisters, Irene Deppe, Viola Butz and Bessie Butler.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Al Ivy officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1 pm until 2 pm. Memorials may be given to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
