STEELEVILLE – Ruby P. McClure, 97, of Chester, formerly of Steeleville, passed away at 8:07 AM, Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Memorial Hospital of Chester.
Ruby was born on April 11, 1919, in Cutler the daughter of William and Ora Pearl (Brown) McClure. She was retired from the First National Bank of Steeleville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Steeleville and a former member of the Randolph County Historical Society.
Ruby is survived by 6 nieces; Dolores Blake, of Steeleville, Nola Koch, of Steeleville, Elaine Hargis, Sparta, Willa Dietz, Sparta, Ruby Holland, Carbondale, Charolette Tournear, Princeton, Illinois. 1 nephew; Dennis McClure, Chester. She is also survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Bernard McClure, sisters; Virginia Schwebel, Hazel Williamson, and Erma Dietz.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Steeleville with Rev. Marvin C. "Bud" Bennett officiating, burial will follow at the Cutler Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning at the church where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to the general fund at the United Methodist Church in Steeleville.
