PERCY – Ruby R. Ernsting, 93, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, Illinois.

Ruby was born on July 9, 1931, in Willisville, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Alma (Oetking) Hornbostel. She married Earl E. Ernsting on May 9, 1953, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Ruby was retired from the International Shoe Factory and a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, and B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post #480, Steeleville, IL.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Earl Ernsting of Percy, IL, her children: Tom (Tammy) Ernsting of Campbell Hill, IL, Nancy (Dike) Hamilton of Steeleville, IL, Dale (Tonya Newby) Ernsting of Steeleville, IL; her 6 grandchildren: Crystal, Doug, Rusty, Keith, Dakota, Nick, and 7 great grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at noon, at Peace Luther Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Ken Tegtmeier and Parrish Minister Assistant Julie Posth officiating. Burial to follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church, where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.
