JACOB, Ruby Margaret Brunkhorst, 92, of Jacob, passed away at 4:22 A.M. Wednesday, October 05, 2011, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin, IL. She was born July 17, 1919 in Jacob, Illinois the daughter of Walter Estel and Margaret (Schlimpert) Estel. Ruby married Eugene Miesner he passed away then she later married Leo Brunkhorst who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister: Georgia Bunselmeyer of Maryville, IL; two nieces: Beverly and Joe Morber of Ava, IL and Glenda Cox of Granite City, IL; three great nieces Kristen, Angela Morber and Amy and ScottMayes; two great nephews: Jonathan and Joni Morber and Christopher and Janice Bunselmeyer; three great great nieces: Tessa and Kendra Bunselmeyer and AdaLynn Morber; two great great nephews: Brandon Froemling and Dyllan Phoenix; two step children. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two sisters, one nephew, Braden Schrader. Mrs. Brunkhorst was a retired tavern operator. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob. Rev. Mike Kettner will be officiating. Burial will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Jacob. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Friday from 5-8 PM and then on Saturday from 7:30 to 9am and then at the church from 10 to 11am. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
