Rosie C. Allen AVA, Rosie C. Allen, 80, of Ava, passed away at 5:45 P.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at her home in Ava, IL. She was born April 11, 1928 in Centralia, Illinois the daughter of Eugene Downs and Gettie (Walker) Downs. Rosie married Rev. Earl R. Allen on September 26, 1960 in Coulterville, IL.He passed away on April 17, 1999. She was the minister for Glorious Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Rosie is survived by sons; Kevin Allen of Ava, IL , Vance Allen of Ava, IL, Mark Allen of Ava, IL, Bill Schaeffer of Staunton, IL; Daughters: Sondra Hewerdine of Ava, IL, Angela Allen of Ava, IL; Brothers: Robert Downs of DuQuoin, IL Wayne Downs of DuQuoin, IL, Milton Downs of Collinsville, IL; Sisters: Bonnie Smith of Ark, Kansas, Thelma Smith of DuQuoin, IL, Viola Baker of Cutler, IL, 15 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Alicia, two brothers Deon and Albert, two sisters Martha and Ruby. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM. at Jubilee Tabernacle Church in DeSoto, IL. Pastor Danny Norman will be officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Saturday from 5-8 PM and on Sunday at Jubilee Tabernacle Church, DeSoto, IL from Noon until 1 pm.
