JACOB – Rose Mary Saupe, 91, passed away on March 25, 2025, at 3:38 AM, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Rose Mary was born on May 12, 1933, in Ava, the daughter of Harry E. Cochran and Bernice (Weatherford) Cochran. She married Robert M. Saupe on October 16, 1954, and they shared 70 years of marriage. Rose Mary enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She cooked at Christ Lutheran School throughout all the years that her grandchildren attended the school. Some summers she spent as a cook at the local YCC Camp through the Forestry Service and also spent many enjoyable years cooking and meeting folks at Bottoms Up Bar & Grill near her home. Rose Mary is a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Rose Mary is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Saupe of Jacob, three daughters: Diane (Dale) Korando of Jacob, Janice (Robert) Crain of Ava, Paula Vogel (Jim Hand) of Murphysboro; eight grandchildren: Nichole (Craig) Smelter, Adam (Cassie) Korando, Shannon (Cody) Rieckenberg, Kimberly Korando (Steven Mikel), Corinne (Stephanie) Vogel, Harley (Olivia) Hand, Brandon (Amelia) Crain, Benjamin Vogel; nine great grandchildren: Grace, Sophie, Thatcher, Berklee, Ryan, Emmett, Carter, Carsyn, Hudson; sisters-in-law: Mary Cochran, Ruth Boese; and was called "Aunt Rosie" by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and two nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Noon at Christ Lutheran Church, Jacob, with Rev. Gunner Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Murdale Garden of Memory, Murphysboro. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church from 10 am until Noon.
