Obituary

STEELEVILLE – Ronald A. Ohlau, 84, of Steeleville, passed away at 12:50 PM, Friday, August 17, 2018, at the Sparta Community Hospital.

Ronald was born on September 28, 1933, in Campbell Hill the son of Arthur and Alma (Lampe) Ohlau. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he married Vera Reuscher Trevathan, on June 24, 1982, and they shared 11 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on January 5, 1994. Ronald was a retired iron worker, and a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, of Steeleville, and the Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post # 3553, of Chester.

Ronald is survived by his brother; Harlond Ohlau, of Steeleville, 1 step daughter; Linda Mulholland, of Steeleville, 1 step son; Mark Trevathan, of Steeleville, step grandchildren; Stephanie Mulholland, of Steeleville, Steven Mulholland, of Steeleville, Hannah Trevathan, of Steeleville, 3 step great grandchildren; Maegan, Emma, and Jon Mulholland. He is also survived by 1 nephew; Ken (Mary Anne) Ross, of Normal, Illinois, 2 nieces; Lisa Ross, of Pleasonton, California, and Gail Mercier, of Hopedale, Illinois, and several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ohlau was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister; Eunice Ross.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating, burial will follow at the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church or Family Hospice.
