SPARTA, Ronald M. Jones, 72, of Sparta, passed away at 8:05 AM Thursday, March 29, 2012, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Ronald was born October 14, 1939 in Sparta, Illinois the son of Dick and Vancil Jones. Ronald married Shirley Ohlau on November 16, 1963 in St. Louis, MO . He was a LP gas distributor truck driver . He was an Army veteran. Ronald was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta, Hope Lodge #162 in Sparta, Teamsters Local #50 in Belleville and Laborer Local #459 in Belleville. Ronald is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones of Sparta; one son, Shawn (Erin) Jones of Sparta; grandchildren, Ella and Kaden Jones; brother, Richard (Edie) Jones of Sparta; sister, Sharon Romano of Cottage Hill, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and a host friends and family. Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Cameron officiating. The family was assisted with their arrangements by Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL. Memorials may be made to Randolph County Humane Society/No Kill Shelter in Sparta.
