MURPHYSBORO, Ronald Eugene Hawk, 59, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:27 A.M. Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL. Ronald was born July 31, 1949 in Waukegan, Illinois the son of Samuel Hawk and Wanda Lou (Steele) Hawk. Mr. Hawk was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his mother, Wanda Herd of Murphysboro, IL; father, Samuel Hawk of DuQuoin, IL; sisters: Cheryl (Dallas) Mayer of Carbondale, IL, Leah (Mark) Ralph of Vergennes, IL, Karen (Mike) Ellis of Murphysboro, IL. , several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant brother: Samuel Everett and stepfather, Raymond Herd. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, IL. Rev. Troy Humphrey will be officiating. Burial will be at DeSoto Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Thursday from 6-8pm and then on Friday from 7:30am until hour of service. Memorials may be made to Berean Church.
