CUTLER – Ronald Edward Gaetz, 82, of Cutler, passed away at 10:08 pm, Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois.
Ronald was born in Cutler, Illinois, on June 30, 1940, the son of Earl and Thela (Toots) Rednour Gaetz. He married Bonnie Ellenberg on December 12, 1956, in Corinth, MS. Ronald was a retired Coal Miner from Captain Mine, Percy, and a heavy equipment operator. Ronald was a member of the TriCounty Pentecostal Church, Cutler; UMW of A Local #1392; and Operating Engineers Local #318. He enjoyed raising and showing Pigeons for over 60 years.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Bonnie Gaetz of Cutler; children, Rhonda (George) Heisner of Pinckneyville, Richard (Betty) Gaetz of Villa Ridge, MO, and Linda (Roger) Koker of Cutler; grandchildren, Lisa (Matthew) Heine, Josh (Tracy) Gaetz, William R. Heisner (Brent Sherrard), Michael (Amanda) Gaetz, Ericka (Damian) Boggess, Kylie (Jesse) Hohgrefe, Jeron Koker, Brianna Martin, Angel Bowers, Charity (Tim) Schaeffner, and Amber (Jason) Putz; 22 great grandchildren, with one due in August; 6 great great grandchildren; sister, Marcia (Tom) Taylor of DuQuoin; and half sister, Lanoma Blom of Kingsman, AZ.
Ronald was preceded in death by his Parents; one grandson, Ronald; one brother, Donnie; and one sister, Linda.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the TriCounty Pentecostal Church in Cutler, with Rev. Billy Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the Building Fund at Tri-County First Pentecostal Church in Cutler or the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O.
