AVA – Ronald A. Cross, Sr., 78, of Ava, passed away at 6:50 am, Friday, October 27, 2017 at his home in Ava.
Ronald was born in Ava, Illinois, on October 13, 1939, the son of William M. and Turzie K. Crisler Cross. He married Priscilla Wisely on January 5, 1963 in Murphysboro, Illinois. He was a Maintenance Technician at Gilster Mary Lee, Steeleville, Illinois. Ronald was a member of Ava Missionary Baptist Church, Ava, Illinois.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Priscilla Cross of Ava; daughter, Laura (Michael) Smith of Benton, IL; son, Ronald, Jr. (Becky) Cross of Sesser, IL; 3 granddaughters; 2 great twin grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by Parents; five brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Deb Rathert, Lay Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5:30 pm until 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 11:00 am. Memorials may be given to the Family to help offset funeral expenses.
