AVA – Ronald W. Bruce, 64, of Ava, passed away at 2:08 PM, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Ronald was born on April 7, 1952 in Chaffee, Missouri the son of Joel H. Bruce and Violet (Roberts) Bruce. He married Lola Crowden on April 23, 2000, in Ava, and they shared 16 years of marriage. Ronald was the former owner of Scrubs and More in Steeleville.
Ronald is survived by his wife; Lola Bruce of Ava, children; Patricia Bruce, of Starkville, Mississippi, Christina Bruce, of Imperial, Missouri, Joel Bruce, of Carbondale and Kevin Bruce, of Carbondale, 3 step children; Stephanie Clark of Imperial, Missouri, Gary Piquard, of Murphysboro, and Wanda Lane, of Rochester, Massachusetts, 19 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Ronald is also survived by 2 brothers; Bob Bruce, of Moline, Illinois, and Randy Bruce, of Moline, Illinois, and 1 sister; Martha Caslin, of Springfield, Illinois.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter; Susan Bruce and 1 brother; Dale Bruce.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with Howard Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
