STEELEVILLE, Roger D. "Fritz:" Meyerhoff, 69, of Steeleville, passed away at 7:44 PM Friday, May 15, 2015, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. He was born May 7, 1946 in Red Bud, Illinois the son of Albert and Margaret (Biermann) Meyerhoff. Roger married Karen E. Coalson on June 14, 1969 in Sparta, IL Fritz was retired from Chester Mental Health. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. Fritz was a member of American Legion BBK Post #480 in Steeleville, IL, the Kaskaskia Post 3553 VFW in Chester and the UMWA. He was a past member of the Steeleville Fire Department. Fritz was of the Lutheran Faith. He is survived by his wife: Karen E. Meyerhoff, Steeleville, IL; 2 sons: Brett (Michelle) Meyerhoff, Steeleville, IL and Brad (Jennifer) Meyerhoff, Fulton, MO; 5 Grandchildren: Brianna Huseman, Brennan Meyerhoff, Braden Meyerhoff, Carter Meyerhoff and Maddox Meyerhoff; 3 sisters: Norma J. (Bobby) Steffens, Perryville, MO, Ruby A. (John) Brown, Steeleville, IL and Arlene (Bob) Hougland, Sparta, IL. Roger is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Brenda Beattie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home on Monday, where friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 7:30am till hour of service. Memorials may be made to Randolph County Humane Society.
