DESOTO – Roger Lee Compton, 55, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois.

Roger was born on March 30, 1969, in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Roy R. and Sharon (Ellis) Compton, Sr. He married Connie Litton on March 30, 1992, in Ava, IL. Roger was a Truck Driver for Ellis Trucking and was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Roger is survived by his wife, Connie Compton of DeSoto, IL, his children: Roger "RJ" Compton of DeSoto, IL, Trinity Compton of Murphysboro, IL; his grandchildren: Ryleigh Compton, Kameron Traylor, Braxton Compton; his parents: Roy R. Compton Sr. of Ava, IL, Sharon Compton of Murphysboro, IL; and his brothers: David Compton of Elkville, IL and Allen Compton of Murphysboro, IL.

Roger was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Compton, JR, two nephews: Brent Compton, Curtis Compton and a cousin, Trevor Compton.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Pastor Danny Norman officiating. Burial to follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call from 11:00 – 1:00 pm.
