Obituary

CARTERVILLE – Rodney S. Yack, 65, of Carterville, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home in Carterville, Illinois.

Rodney was born September 28, 1956, in Edwardsville, IL, to Waldo and Doris (Schmig) Yack. He married Ronda G. Wilson in 1980, in Ava, IL. Rodney worked at Sam Cary Lumber, Memphis, TN, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Murphysboro, IL. He was an avid golfer, loved photography, and was a huge fan of the UK Wildcats.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Ronda Wilson of Carterville, IL, siblings: Jennifer (Steve) Ederer of Murphysboro, IL, Sandy (Jeff) James of Murphysboro, IL, Tony (Sherry) Graham of Cape Girardeau, MO, Elizabeth Steffen of Arizona; mother-in-law, Shirley Wilson of Ava, IL, sisters-in-law: Paula Wilson of Ava, IL, Nikki (Rip) Tomlinson of Murphysboro, IL; special nephew: Ripley Tomlinson, and special great nephew: Dylan Eaton; nephews: Chris and Michael James; niece, Amy Eaton, and great niece, Bren Eaton.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, John Wilson, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 20, 2022, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating. Burial to follow. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
