MURPHYSBORO – Roberta L. Goetz, 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:05 am, on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at DuQuoin Rehab and Care, DuQuoin, Illinois.

Roberta was born in Murphysboro, on April 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Robert B. and Eara L. Walker Skidmore.  Roberta married Elmer E. Goetz on March 12, 1955 at Ava, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on November 16, 1993.   Roberta was a Homemaker and a member of the Ava Assembly of God Church.

Roberta is survived by children, Elmer (Charlotte) Goetz of Murphysboro, Carolyn Goetz Lipe (Blake Edwards) of McLeansboro, IL, Dianna (Kip) Hagler of Makanda, IL, Kenneth (Christina) Goetz of Murphysboro and step son, Larry (Diane) Goetz of New Athens, IL; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Roberta was preceded in death by her Parents; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.  Burial will follow at Murdale Gardens of Memory, Murphysboro.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am Saturday.  Memorials may be given to DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab.
