WILLISVILLE – Robert E. Sargent, 61, passed away at 4:54 am, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Willisville, Illinois.

Robert was born on September 2, 1962, in Carbondale, IL, the son of James Scott and Minnie Pearl (Phillips) Sargent. Robert was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Giant City Schools and was of the Protestant Faith. He was an avid fisherman, loved being outdoors, searching for arrowheads, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Robert is survived by his four daughters: Alysia (Wes) Stoffel, Brittney Sargent (Joe Lindsey), Adriane Sargent (Shawmus Sargent) Hayphin Sargent (Brayden Flanagan); his six grandchildren: Robbie Sheeley, Brooklynn Stoffel, Kaleb Stoffel, Rayleigh Stoffel, Jesse Meggs, Ricky Meggs; his siblings: Sharon Sargent, James Sargent, Delbert Sargent (Rebecca Martin) and Scott (Tammy) Sargent.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

It was Robert's wishes for a private family service which will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Jude's Childrens Cancer Research and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
