SPARTA - Robert L. Kueker, 67, of Sparta, passed away at 4:45 pm, Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Missouri-Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Robert was born in Red Bud, Illinois on February 13, 1947, the son of Archie D. and Alice M. Eggemeyer Kueker. He married Carol Ann Suhre on June 7, 1969 at Evansville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2013. He was retired from Egyptian Telephone Coop in Steeleville, Illinois and had a Gourmet Catering Service. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1966 until 1968. Robert was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta; Knights of Columbus in Sparta, the Sparta Lions Club and a life time member of Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553 in Chester. Robert is survived by his son, Jonathan (Nicol) Kueker of Hennepin, IL; his daughter, Justina (James) Essan of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Madelyn Kueker; and two step grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew Essan; and his parents, Archie and Alice Kueker of Walsh, IL. Robert was also preceded in death by his brother, Randy. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta with Father John Agbasiere officiating. Burial will in Ellis Grove Cemetery, Ellis Grove, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Friday with the Rosary being recited at 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9:15 am. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Masses.
