ROCKWOOD – Robert F. Kennedy, 83, of Rockwood, passed away at 6:35 pm, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his home in Rockwood, Illinois.

Robert was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 15, 1932, the son of James and Edith Pierson Kennedy. He married Norma Alldredge on February 11, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas. He was a Carpenter. Robert was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attended the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood. Robert was a member of East #504 A.F. & A.M. of Fairview Heights, IL and the Carpenters Local #1361 in Chester, Illinois.

Robert is survived by his wife, Norma "Sue" Kennedy of Rockwood; his son, Rick (Sherry) Kennedy of Rockwood; his daughter, Robin (Jerry) Bierman of Chester; his brother, William (Marilyn) Kennedy of Texas; his stepmother, Agnes Kennedy of Roland, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Kristen (Todd) Cordell of Chicago, Jennifer Hurley of Glen Carbon, IL, Alisa (Jeff) Herrell of Rockwood, and Jacob (Danielle) Kennedy of Rockwood; his great grandchildren, Spencer, Kelsey, and Mackenzie Hurley, Beckham and Mia Cordell, Clay and Kennedy Herrell and Carter Kennedy; brother-in-law, Jack (Darlyne) Alldredge of Glen Carbon; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Darden of Trenton, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his Parents; one sister, Anna Kennedy and one son, Robert Kennedy.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Rockwood with Rev. Cecil Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 9 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to the Ebenezer Memorial Fund or St. Luke's Cancer Center.
