STEELEVILLE, Robert L. Jeffers, 83, of Steeleville, passed away at 1:45 A.M. Wednesday, December 01, 2010, at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud, IL. He was born March 06, 1927 in Steeleville, Illinois the son of John Clinton Jeffers and Frieda (Lipe) Jeffers. Robert married Norma G. Lloyd on August 5, 1950 in Marissa, IL. Robert was a member of the Steeleville Baptist Church in Steeleville, IL. He is survived by his wife Norma Jeffers of Steeleville, IL; two sons: Curt Jeffers of Steeleville, IL and Cyrus Jeffers of Sparta, IL; four grandchildren: Heather, Ashley, Aaron James (AJ), Jeffers, and Krystopher Jeffers.; one brother: James Dean Jeffers of Steeleville, IL. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald. He was retired from World Color Press, Sparta, IL and also worked as a police officer for the Village of Steeleville. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Steeleville Baptist Church in Steeleville. Rev. Richard A. Newcom will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Thursday from 6-8 PM and then on Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 and then at the church from 9:30 until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Steeleville Baptist Church.
