AVA – Robert A. Fulton, 67, of Ava passed away at 9:10 AM, Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Robert was born on February 15, 1951, in Percy, the son of Robert Lloyd and Wanda (Reese) Fulton. Bob married Helen Louise Sherman, on January 15, 1972, in Murphysboro, and they shared 46 years of marriage. Bob was a retired carpenter and a member of the United Methodist Church in Percy. He was a volunteer fireman for Ava Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and Sons of the American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro.
He is survived by his wife; Louise Fulton, of Ava, children; Robert Fulton, of Ava, and Posha (Darrin) Thies, of Ava, 2 grandchildren; Madelyn and Michael, and special dog; Cutter. Bob is also survived by a sister; Jean Salger, of Chester, 2 sisters – in – law; Gayle Fulton, of Forsythe, Montana, Alice Sherman, of Ava, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fulton was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; Jim Fulton, and 2 brothers – in –law; John Sherman, and Glen Salger
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with Debra Rathert, Lay Minister, officiating, burial will follow at the Birkner Cemetery, Sato. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, and then on Tuesday from 7:30 to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to the Birkner Cemetery.
