WILLISVILLE – Robert E. Franklin, 68, of Willisville, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home in Willisville, IL.

Robert was born in Red Bud, IL, on November 2, 1954, the son of Wilbur M. and Edna M. (Alexander) Franklin.  He married Tammy Mathis on February 18, 1984, in Tilden, IL. Robert was retired from Tele-a-Communications and Peabody Coal. He was a member of Ham Radio Operators and the National Rifle Association. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is his wife, Tammy Franklin of Willisville, IL, his children: Jeffery Franklin of Tilden, IL, Maegan (Chris) Tombrella of Alabama, William (Lissa) Franklin of Carbondale, IL, Ashleigh Franklin of Steeleville, IL; his eight grandchildren, his brother, Wilbur M. Franklin, Jr. of Tilden, IL, and his sister, Cindy (Pat) Jones of Marissa, IL.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Franklin's wishes were for cremation and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to a Love Fund for the family, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL, 62288.
