PINCKNEYVILLE, Robert Henry Farmer, 83, of Pinckneyville, passed away at Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born April 30, 1927 in Blevine, Arkansas the son of James H. Farmer and Jeffie (Brockham) Farmer. Robert married Rosetta Pender on September 15, 1949 in Anna, Illinois. Rosetta passed away on June 4, 1981, Robert later married Mary L. Loback on February 21, 1983 in Buncombe, Illinois. Mary passed away on May 5, 2008. He is survived by his children: Robert W. Farmer Sr. of Pinckneyville, IL, Dianna Wheat of Baldwin, IL, Victoria and James Burke Sr. of White Haven, PA, Patricia and Phillip Hooten of Steeleville, IL, Steven L. Farmer Sr. of Buncombe, IL, William and Sonia Farmer of Percy, IL, Michael Farmer of Pinckneyville, IL, Jeffery Farmer of Pinckneyville, IL, and Janet Jordan of Pinckneyville, IL; Step daughters: Eva and Dennis Prader of Anna, IL and Kimberly and Mike Jones of North Carolina; 25 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren with two on the way; one great great grandson and one on the way; several nieces and nephews; sister: Marge Abernathy of Wolf Lake, IL. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, two brothers and four sisters. Mr. Farmer served in the U.S. Navy, during the World War II as a seaman first class. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester, Illinois. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired Truck Driver. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. Phillip Keeton will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and then on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
