PERCY, Robert D. Essman, 65, of Percy, passed away at 3:13 PM Monday, December 9, 2013, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. He was born March 26, 1948 in Reynolds County, Missouri the son of Walter and Iva (Provance) Essman. Robert married Dorothy Rigdon on November 8, 1998 at Campbell Hill, IL . Robert was a retired Machinist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball. He is survived by his: wife: Dorothy Essman, Percy, IL; son: Robert L. Essman, Chester, IL; daughter: Rose Essman Purdin, Creve Coeur, MO; Stepson: Paul Pestor, Percy, IL; Stepdaughter: Vicki Rigdon, Pinckneyville, IL; 11 Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; 3 Brothers: Dean Farris and Bill Farris of Piedmont, MO and Johnny Farris of Thompsonville, IL; 6 Sisters: Eloise Chandler, Coulterville, IL; Ethel Gillman, Mulkeytown, IL; Pearl Quillman, Pinckneyville, IL; Beverly James, Wayne City, IL; Cecilia Chandler, Sparta, IL and Kay Farris, Piedmont, MO; 3 Sister in laws: Mary Condor, Ellis Grove, IL; Donna Miller and Doris Sauerhage, both of Chester, IL. He was also survived by a host of Nieces and Nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother in law and a sister. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home Percy, Illinois, with Rev. Wendall Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn Cemetery, Jacob, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy on Thursday where friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 7:30am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to the family.
