MURPHYSBORO – Rob Roy Ellett, 85, of Murphysboro, passed away at home on Friday, October 8, 2021.

Rob Roy was born in Grand Tower, Illinois, on February 26, 1936, the son of Charles "Sugar Babe" and Lucille Hagler Ellett.  He married D. Elaine Wiggs on February 4, 1961 in Grand Tower, Illinois.  Rob Roy was the District Sales Manager for Western Union.  He was a Veteran of the Air Force during the Korean Conflict Era.  Rob was a member of REAL Church in Murphysboro.

Rob Roy is survived by his wife, Elaine Ellett of Grand Tower, IL; son, Greg (Bridget) Ellett of Vergennes; daughter, Lea Ann (Matt) Fritsche of Jacob; grandchildren, Jill (Ryan) Powles, Ryne (Hilary) Ellett, Kody (Shawna) Ellett, Noah (Emmaleigh) Fritsche, Elizabeth (Michael Rathert) Fritsche and Blake Ellett; 5 great grandchildren; and brothers, Kenneth Ellett of Pomona and Walter Ray Ellett of Alabama.

Rob Roy was preceded in death by his Parents; four brothers, Sherman, Jack, Denny, and Leon; and one sister, Patricia Ann Guier.

Private graveside services will be held with burial at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower, Illinois, with Pastor Noah Fritsche officiating.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital.
