STEELEVILLE – Ricky D. Ebers, 64, of Steeleville passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ricky was born on March 11, 1956, in Chester the son of Harold F. and Virginia (Mayer) Ebers. He married Donna Hartenberger, on March 7, 1981, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester and they shared 39 years of marriage. Ricky was retired from Chester Mental Health in Chester. He was an Elder and member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, pass member of the St. Mark's School board, and the Steeleville Community Unit School Board. Ricky loved to watch and take care of his purple martins at his home. He loved hunting and fishing and watching baseball games.

Ricky is survived by his wife; Donna Ebers, of Steeleville, 2 children; Eric (Katie) Ebers, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Sara (Dominic) Moore, of Placitas, New Mexico, 5 grandchildren; Maddalyn Moore, Lucca Moore, Aspen Moore, Enoch Ebers, Elizabeth Ebers. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Larry Ebers, of Red Bud, and Jimmy L. Ebers, of Concordia, Missouri.

Mr. Ebers was preceded in death by his parents.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private graveside services will be held, with burial at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Lutheran School, or Steeleville High School Baseball and Softball teams. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
