SPARTA – Richard W. Florreich, 80, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his home in Sparta, Illinois.

Richard was born on April 12, 1944, in Belleville, IL, the son of Wilbur and Lillian (Callais) Florreich. He married Linda Bates on December 8, 1984, in Steeleville, IL. Richard retired from World Color Press, Sparta, IL, having worked in the bindery for 32 years. He attended Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, enjoyed delivering Meal on Wheels for the Sparta Senior Center, auctions, and showing his 1999 Z34 Monte Carlo at various car shows. Richard loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda Florreich of Sparta, IL, his children: Terry (Stephanie) Florreich of Murray, UT, Debby (Chris) McInelly of Stanwood, WA, Christy (Tony) James of Chester, IL, Kevin (Andrea) Florreich of Red Bud, IL; his stepsons: Steve (Linda) Creech of Willisville, IL, Ed (Meta) Creech of Willisville, IL; his 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his sibings: Rodger (Vina) Florreich of Salt Lake City, UT, LuAnn (John) Smith of St. Louis, MO; and his nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Audriann Chouinard.

Funeral services will be on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL, with Rev. Tim McIntyre officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Calvary Church, where friends may call from 11:00 – 1:00 pm.
