Richard Leo Dammermann, 66, of Willisville, passed away at 10:41 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Missouri-Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.

Richard was born in Belleville, Illinois on May 29, 1954, the son of Beda (Kreher) and Herman Dammermann.  He married Judy K. Gendron on January 16, 1981 at Murphysboro, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on November 3, 2011.  Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Willisville, Illinois.  Richard retired as a coal miner  from Old Ben 13 Zeigler Mine, Coulterville, Illinois and was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local 318.

Richard is survived by three children, Chrissy (Dan) Smith, Chanda Fedderke, and Heather Bilderback; 9 grandchildren; father, Herman Dammermann; two brothers, William (Sheila) Dammermann, Karl (Lori) Dammermann; four sisters, Donna Crain, Cynthia Dammermann, Debra (Michael) Rathert and Terri (Tom) Wilhite.

Richard was also preceded in death by his mothers, Beda & Ann; two brothers, Ronald Lee and Kenneth Raymond Dammermann; one infant sister.

Phase 4 Guidelines will be in effect, which allows 50 attendees at one time, using social distancing guidelines and facemasks.  Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery with Father Larry Lemay officiating.  Burial will follow.  Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
