Rex A. Wendell, 55, of Willisville, passed away at 4:01 P.M. Wednesday, November 05, 2008, at his home in Willisville, IL. He was born December 18, 1952 in Willlisville, Illinois the son of Edward U. Wendell and Beulah (Johnsey) Wendell. He married Carolyn Barnett on March 23, 1983 in Willisville, IL. Rex worked as a Fork Lift Operator at Gilster Mary Lee in Steeleville, IL. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Wendell of Willisville, IL; children: Rex Allen (Heide) Wendell Jr. of TN, Michael (Virginia) Williams of DuQuoin, IL, Tondaleyia Wendell (Josh Matheny) of Willisville, IL five grandchildren: Gage Williams, Sarah Wendell, Blake Williams, Leah Williams, Alanah Wendell Matheny; sisters: Joyce Harris of St. Louis, MO, Della and Marvin Myers of Percy, IL He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Norma and one brother Jack. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville.Burial will be at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL Visitation will be on Friday, November 7, 2008 where family and friends may call from 6 to 8 pm then on Saturday from 7:30am until the hour of service.
