MOUNT VERNON, Randall John Svanda, 57, of Mount Vernon, passed away at 2:50 A.M. Wednesday, February 02, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, IL. He was born January 11, 1954 in Murphysboro, Illinois the son of Otto Svanda and Eldean (Fritsche) Svanda. He is survived by his parents: Otto and Eldean Svanda of Mount Vernon, IL; sister: Nancy and Paul Knop of Sparta, IL; one niece: Heather and Tyson Moonier of St. Louis, MO; two nephews: Ryan Knop of Belleville, IL and Drew Knop (Amy Joiner) of Sparta, IL; two great nieces: Shay and Lana Moonier of St. Louis, MO. He was President of Svanda Motors Inc. Mount Vernon, Illinois. Randall was a member of the Elks Lodge, Mount Vernon, IL and the Moose Lodge, Mount Vernon, IL. He was also of the Lutheran Faith. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. Bruce Cameron will be officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Sunday from 5-8 PM and then on Monday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
