Steeleville - Priscilla Rae Hostert, 68, of Steeleville, Illinois was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at her home in Steeleville.

She was born the daughter of Raymond and Leona (Wolter) Ackermann on September 13, 1952. Priscilla was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wine Hill. She formerly served as a board member of St. Mark's Lutheran School in Steeleville; and was a member of the Evangelism Board at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She also served the youth of the Steeleville community as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Priscilla was born at home in Jennings, MO, along with her sister, Phyllis, they shared a deep bond throughout life; she was baptized and confirmed at St. Jacobi in Jennings, MO. She attended Jennings High School and later attended University of Missouri St Louis. Priscilla married John Hostert at St. Peter's church in Evansville on August 20, 1977. She worked as a home health care professional for many years. Clients under her care formed long lasting relationships, knowing Priscilla would always be there to help them during their time of need. She also served St. Paul's church as a part-time custodian.

Priscilla was a devout wife, mother, and sister. She always ensured that her children had their needs met. She attended all their events during school. She was proud of her children's accomplishments. Being a mother was considered to be one of the greatest joys of her life. She also found joy and passion in caring for her dogs and parakeets.

Priscilla is survived by her husband, John; two sons; Timothy Hostert of Steeleville, IL; Mark Hostert (Tiffany Cowan) of Chester, IL; twin-sister, Phyllis (Andy) Pond of Madison, AL; and sister, Betty Ackermann of Chesterfield, MO.

Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Leona; and her beloved daughter, Jessica.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Wine Hill with Rev. Sean R. Smith officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning at the church where friends may call  from 9:30-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Renovation Fund. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
