SPARTA – Philip W. Brooks, 68, of Sparta, passed away at 1:21 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Sparta Community Hospital.
Philip was born on July 22, 1948, in Sparta, the son of, George and Dorothy (Covington) Brooks. Philip was retired from Sparta Light Metals, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta.
Philip is survived by his mother; Dorothy Brooks, of Sparta, 2 brothers; Roger Brooks of California, and Richard Brooks, of Sparta, 1 sister; Tammy Brooks, of Sparta. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by his father, and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with Rev. William Ernest Shepard officiating, and burial will follow at the Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017, at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
