SPARTA – Pauline M. Welty, 89, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois.

Pauline was born May 8, 1931 in Campbell Hill, IL, to Ernest and Clara Hornbostel Ehlers.  She married Oran Dale Welty on September 22, 1951 in Hernando, MS.  He preceded her in death on January 2, 2004.  Pauline was a retired seamstress and was a member of the Seamstress Union and St. John's Lutheran Church, Sparta, IL.

Pauline is survived by her foster daughter, Thelma Winkelman of Sparta, IL, granddaughter, Andrea (Walter) Johnson of Sparta, IL, foster granddaughter, Nicole (Lance) Krack of Red Bud, IL, four great grandchildren: Alexandria McFadden, Trevor Johnson, Nolan and Jackson Krack, and many nieces and nephews.  Pauline is also survived by her three brothers: Ray Ehlers of Carbondale, IL, Roy Ehlers of Campbell Hill, IL and Melvin Ehlers of Campbell Hill, IL.

Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Vanda Welty, brothers, Wilbert, Ernest, Jr., and Leroy, infant brother Ferdinand,  sister, Helen Wilson and infant sister, Esther.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL with Minister Debra Rathert officiating.  Burial to follow at Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, IL. Friends may call on Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL and from 8:00 am till time of service on Wednesday.  Memorials may be given to family and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
