STEELEVILLE – Paula L. Bierman, 68, of Steeleville, received her wings on February 19, 2023, at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL.

Paula was born January 1, 1955, in Jerseyville, IL to Louis and Eleanor Philippe. She married Jerel Bierman on October 12, 1980, in Steeleville, IL. Paula served and took care of others as a Registered Nurse for 45 plus years. She loved her family and crafts, she was very creative. Paula always took care of those around her. She went above in her love and care, which included animals. Paula was of the Catholic faith.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Jerel Bierman of Steeleville, IL, her son, Patrick Bierman of Belleville, IL, along with her grandson, Lucas. Also surviving is her sister, Cheryl Philippe, niece, Brandy (Zion) Lovingier, great niece, Zarra Lovingier, mother-in-law, Wymona Bierman, brothers-in-law: Mike (Nancy) Bierman, Ron (Julie) Bierman; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Eleanor Philippe, brother, Duane Philippe, sister, Darlene Vuichard, father-in-law, Hugo Bierman, and sister-in-law, Maureen Bierman.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 7:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Minister Debra Rathert officiating.  A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Services - Mascoutah, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL, 62288.
