STEELEVILLE – Paul R. Wicker, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at his home in Steeleville, Illinois.

Paul was born on January 6, 1945, in Boulder, CO, the son of Leland A. and Marjorie F. (Kiel) Wicker. He married Janet L. Marth on June 16, 1985, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Paul was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was the owner and operator of Wickers Jewelry in Steeleville, IL, which was a family-owned business for over 75 years. Paul was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, and BBK American Legion Post 480, Steeleville, IL.

Paul is survived by his wife, Janet L. Wicker of Steeleville, IL, his sister, Kathleen Wright of Jackson, MO, his sister-in-law, Julie Marth of Worden, IL, his brother-in-law, David (Susan) Marth of Wood River, IL, his nephews: Daniel (Linda) Wright of Spring, TX, Aaron (Mika) Wright of Cape Girardeau, MO, Ben (Jennifer) Ashby of Edwardsville, IL, Blake (Julz) Marth of Wood River, IL; his nieces: Chloe (Nick) Datillo of Edwardsville, IL, Clare Marth (Dillan) of Tennessee; and several great nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Morton Wright and a nephew, Samuel Ashby.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery – West Point, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, where friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, and then on Saturday, 8:00 am till time of service.
