PERCY, Paul C. Wedemeyer, 94, of Percy, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, IL. He was born June 27, 1914 in Ava, Illinois the son of Chris Wedemeyer and Emma (Niederbrach) Wedemeyer. He married Evelyn Dierks on May 7, 1949 in Campbell Hill, Illinois. She passed away on September 1, 2004. Paul was a retired truck driver and served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1145, Percy, Illinois and Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553, Chester, Illinois, also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, Illinois. He is survived by one sister, Linda Gerberding of Chester, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. Rev. Gregory J. Schultz will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Friday from 6-8 PM and then on Saturday from 7:30 am till 11am then at St. Peter Lutheran Church from noon to 1pm. Memorials may be made to St. Peter General Fund.
