GORHAM – Paul "Doc" Ellet, 66, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home in Gorham, IL, with his wife by his side.

Paul was born on January 15, 1958, in Jackson County, IL, the son of Paul Edward and Ruth June (Smith) Ellet. He married Yvonne Medlin on December 18, 1982, in Anna, IL. Paul retired from Tri County School, Murphysboro, IL and worked 26 years for Bess Farms. He was a simple man who loved his family, and his grandkids were the light of his day. We hear stories all the time about how Doc could fix anything. Just let him hear the engine or describe the sound, he could walk you through it over the phone.

Paul is survived by his wife, Yvonne Ellet of Gorham, IL, his sons: Jeremiah D. Ellet (LeeAnne), Jesse L. Ellet (Stephanie); his grandchildren: Gabby V. Ellet, Jesse D. Ellet, Westyn Lee Ellet, Jeffrey Boyd and Breanne Boyd.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and grandfather, Lester Smith.

We want to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois, his wonderful nurse, Cheryl, LHC, his nurse Era and therapist Toni. Walgreens in Murphysboro, for having all his medicines ready as soon as they changed. And a very heartwarming thanks to Amanda Sailliez, who Paul put his full trust in.

The family honored Paul's wishes with a graveside service held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Glenn Cemetery, Rockwood, IL. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or LHC Home Care and can be mailed c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
