STEELEVILLE, Patsy M. Niemeyer, 58, of Steeleville, passed away at 1:00PM Monday, January 23, 2012, at her home in Steeleville, Illinois. She was born March 7, 1953 in Murphysboro, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph Karsten. Patsy was a Medical Assistant. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Steeleville of which she was a direct descendent of the founders. She is survived by her son, Daniel W. Niemeyer of Steeleville; brother, Fred Karsten of Wichita, Kansas; step-mother, Lavern Karsten of Steeleville; step-sisters, Marilyn Tacket of Marissa, Patty Gibbs of Peru, Indiana and Denise Candle of Fayetteville, Arkansas; aunt, Doris Karsten; 4 cousins: Joan Rinne, Kathy Karsten, Sandy Karsten and Janice Lively; niece: Jennifer Dimitriv and a nephew, Eric Karsten. Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Karsten. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00am at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville on Friday, January 27th from 5 to 8pm and on Saturday from 7:30 to 9am, then from 10 to 11am at the church. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or St. Louis Children's Hospital.
