Obituary

AVA – Patsy Garver, 85, of Ava, passed away at home on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 8:00 pm, surrounded by her family.

Patsy was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on March 18, 1941, the daughter of Frank T. and Martha K. Keeley Roseme. She married Gale Garver on July 8, 1961 in Ava. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2022. Patsy was a retired Postal Clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ava.

Patsy is survived by her children, Kathy Alstat (Mike Wisely) of Vergennes, Ronald (Leah) Garver of Edwardsville, IL and Dennis (Lisa) Garver of Ava; grandchildren, Danielle Alstat (Tony Arroyo), Dustin (Hannah) Garver, Hank (Brittany) Garver, Lauren Garver and Ryan Garver; great grandchildren, Breanna Bears, Alaina Arroyo, Dawson Arroyo, Deaton Garver, Drake Garver, Fraya Garver, Wade Garver, Frank Garver, a great granddaughter expected soon, Ellisia; step grandchildren, Zeke Fiorina and Faith Fiorina; and step great grandchild, Kehlani.

Patsy was preceded in death by her Parents; son-in-law, Bill Alstat; and three sisters, Phyllis Higgerson, Marsha Roseme and Frances Killion.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 am, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Bob Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Ava and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
