SPARTA – Patrick Lee Rainey passed away at his home on October 19, 2017.
He was born on January 11, 1961 in Chester, Illinois to Lee H. Rainey and Billie Ann (Haier) Rainey, then raised in Columbia, Illinois. He has lived in Sparta, Illinois for the past three years.
He is survived by his father; Lee H. Rainey, Uncle Bert Haier, of Webster Groves, Missouri. Also close cousins, Kevin (Mickey) Hewitt, Donald (Misty) McFadden Jr., and Misty (Bryce) Coleman. Along with great cousins Lucy Coleman, and Lexi McFadden, and other loved family members.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Billie Ann Haier Rainey, grandparents (mothers) Bill and Carla Haier, and Raymond Freeman, and Edith Rainey (father), and Uncle Phillip, and Aunt Doris Hewitt.
Patrick worked at a printing company in Saint Louis for many years. He loved to travel or just take a long ride. He always wanted a new atlas for Christmas, and collected maps from his travels. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing on the slot machines. No cards for him he loved the sounds of the machines in the casino. He was a happy guy and kid at heart which showed with his love for Charlie Brown Cartoon, especially Snoopy not a holiday went by without a new holiday snoopy to put out. He was loved and will be missed by all that was close to him.
Mr. Rainey's wishes were to be cremated and there will be a private memorial service at a later date. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is entrusted with the arrangements.
