PUXICO – Patricia "Pat" Lou Sims, 81, of Puxico, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025.

Pat was born July 16, 1943, in Campbell Hill, IL the daughter of William Jr and Ruby (Blette) Dameron. She and Larry Wayne Sims were married on September 3, 1966, in Battlecreek, MI. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Willisville, IL and a retired Trico School Bus Driver, where she drove generations safely to school, games, and field trips for 23 years.  Pat, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved the ball games, and talking it over with friend/cousin Shirley Nisbet. She cherished her time with her family, especially with her great granddaughters, who lovingly called her, Grannie.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Tom) Spiller and Amy (Todd) Triplett; her grandchildren, Taylor (Bradley) Fondaw and Dalton (Amy) Spiller; and her great-granddaughters, Lindsey Lou and Clara May Fondaw, her brother, Gary (Judi) Dameron, her sister-in-law, Patti Dameron, her brother-in-law, Douglas Sims, her cousin, Shirley Nisbet, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sims; her parents, Bill and Ruby Dameron; mother-in-law, Erlene Sims, brother, Bill Dameron, brother-in-law, Jerry Sims, and nephew, Jon Dameron.

Pat was a special lady, kind, and generous. Her quick wit, humor, and love will forever be missed and remembered by all whose lives she touched.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, at 3:30 PM, at Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL, with Lonnie Fulkerson and Bryan Jefferies officiating. Visitation will be at the cemetery, where friends and family may call from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Memorials may be given to The Special Olympics, Region K, and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL 62097.
