Obituary

PERCY – Patricia Ann (“Pat”) O’Dell, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO, on October 4, 2026, with family members by her side.

Pat was born in Findlay, IL, the daughter of Ruth (Perry) Younger and Glen Younger. She graduated from Findlay High School and then attended Eastern Illinois University, where she met her future husband, Joe O’Dell. They were married at the United Methodist Church (Findlay) on August 26, 1956. They had four children: Lisa, Laurie, Doug, and Beth.

The family moved to Percy in 1972, and Pat was active in the Wesley United Methodist Church, serving as Treasurer and playing the piano at Sunday services for over 30 years. She enjoyed gospel music and driving to concerts, first with Joe and then with friends. She also enjoyed collecting and decorating her home for the holidays. In 2019, Pat moved to Kansas City, MO, to be closer to family.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, son Doug, husband Joe, and daughter Lisa. She is survived by daughters; Laurie (Steve) Lisa and Beth (George) Matz; grandchildren: Anthony (Bridget) Lisa, Michelle (Dan) Brown, Caitlin (Adam) Bosch, Samuel Poole, Leah (Brandon) Breummer, Caroline (Mitchell) Manley, Anna-Claire (Landon) Matz; great-grandchildren: Niko Lisa, Corinne Brown, Carson and Luke Bosch, and Eloise Breummer. Pat is also survived by her brother Robert (Judy) Younger, nieces, and nephews.

Pat was devoted to her family and faith and prioritized them throughout her life. Reciting mere facts can't begin to describe how remarkable she was. Pat O’Dell will be sincerely missed and lovingly remembered.

Donations in her memory can be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, Illinois 62907.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, 11:00 am, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Percy, IL, with Pastor Steve Duncan officiating. Burial to follow at Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be Friday morning, October 9, 2026, where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service, at the church.
